Summary

2010-2011 Targets
To fund our part of the new EU-funded €1,100,00 programme to 2011, we have committed to raise €110,000 (£100,000) between now and Nov 2011. This will require £50,000 each in 2010 and 2011. In return the EC will grant €1.1m (£1.0m), ie 90% of the total TASU project funding.

This will cover the next stage of the local chicken and rice production and marketing work, as well as additional activities around road construction and irrigation, and disaster risk reduction activities in all 60 villages across the 4 districts. This will cover most of the core TASU costs for the next 2 years (Accenture is co-funding the sisal project for three years, along with donors to Oxfam's Enterprise Development Programme).

In 2009 we raised £44,000 for the chicken 'path-finding' part of the TASU programme.

This year we have now raised £46,500, which, with an extra £8,000 carried over from last year, puts the Fund half way to its 2 year target.

As you can see, we need every penny and more...and there is so much more to do.
